Schoolhouse Renovations
The circa 1935 Schoolhouse Building, a 5-story brick masonry structure, designed in the Georgian style consistent with much of the campus, is the primary academic center on the Kent School campus. The 50,000sf building houses the Kent School Library (2 floors) and 3 floors of classrooms and faculty offices.
The primary goals for the project are to move the Pre-Engineering Program from its current off-campus location into the First Floor of Schoolhouse, upgrade all of the academic classroom spaces and faculty offices, and to completely upgrade the building systems, including new roof and windows, HVAC systems, and new plumbing fixtures. The project will be a transformation of one of the most historic and important buildings on the Kent School campus.
