Bay House
Bay House was born from the pairing of a dramatic site overlooking the Chesapeake Bay and a passion for midcentury modern design. Inspired by Pierre Koenig’s Case Study House #22, a Los Angeles icon popularly known as the Stahl House, Bay House unites timeless modernism and an industrial design ethos with twenty-first century architectural innovations.
The house references Koenig’s famous design in its steel beams, deep deck, and structural cantilever that carries your eye out to a sweeping view of the Chesapeake Bay. Largely glass-walled, Bay House negotiates a direct connection to the surrounding environment with energy performance and privacy through thoughtful detailing and sitework.
