The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has introduced a new water efficiency program dubbed WaterSense. The EPA states that the goal of the rating system is to "spead(ing) the ethic of water efficiency and promote(ing) the tools to make wise water choices." In many ways the program is similar to the very successful EnergyStar system that promotes energy efficiency in appliances and devices.
