Uniontown Bank Residence

Historic, Residential, Historic

View Gallery

This home preserves the old Carroll County Savings Bank, a rural bank constructed more than 110 years ago. The bank is one of the few commercial buildings left within the National Register-listed Historic District of Uniontown. The property sat vacant for 30 years and considered for demolition until 2015 when the property was purchased and envisioned as a simple and elegant residence that restores a local legacy. The focus of the design preserves the character of the bank and adds a simplistic modern addition creating a space that is both rooted in history and looks to the future. The project features a 3-story, 2 bedroom addition to the back of the bank that allows for an abundance of natural light and modern living innovations.
